Our plants are central Indiana genotype.

Modest, maybe too common or maybe overlooked perennial, native northern states of USA and most of Canada.

See the USDA distribution map. The value of this aster is, that it starts blooming significantly earlier that other fall asters!

2.5'-3' tall x 1.5' wide, upright perennial with smaller whitish to blueish flowers in August/September.

Full sun, half shade, dappled sun, average soils, medium to dry. Adaptable, tolerates poor soils and some shade too.

Attracts smaller butterflies and pollinators.

For naturalistic gardens and flower beds, for woodland edges, woodland gardens or opening in woods.
