Heuchera 'Guacamole' - CORAL BELL 'GUACAMOLE'

Product Code: HEU-X-GUA
$8.99

Large chartreuse leaves, robust cultivar from French plant breeders Sandrine and Thiery Delabroye.

Award of Garden Merit by British RHS.

12" tall (about 24" with flowers) x 12-24" wide clumps. White flowers at the beginning of summer. A bit fuzzy leaves suggest that one of the parent has to be Heuchera villosa (which usually brings some better longevity and drought and heat tolerance).

Best in light or dappled shade (or areas with morning sun to 4 hours of direct sun or less - especially in cooler area), leaves can burn with full sun. Average soil with some organic matter, average moisture. Organic mulch is beneficial. Don't plant in waterlogged soil.

Hardy in zones 4 to 9. Deer and rabbit resistant, tolerant to black walnut. Pollinator friendly - attracts some butterflies and small bees.

For small groups in half shade beds, woodland edges, woodland or shade gardens or bigger containers. Divide clump after several years of growing to retain the vigor and new growth.

Good companions are shade tolerant plants like Actaea, Aquilegia, Astilbe, Brunnera, Chrysogonum, Epimedium, Gillenia, Helleborus, Heuchera, Hosta, Phlox divaricata, Primula, shorter Thalictrum, Tricyrtis and especially combined with fine structure of grasses like Carex, Deschampsia, Hakonechloa. Goes well with spring ephemerals (Jeffersonia, Mertensia, Sanguinaria,Trillium, etc), spring bulbs and ferns.

Pot size : square 3.5" x 5" deep pot
