Cultivar with deep-purple and slightly ruffled leaves with silver veil. Keeps the purple color for the whole season.

Vigorous, one of the additional top performers at Mt. Cuba coralbells trials, reaching 4 points out of 5.

10" tall x 26" wide clumps (22" tall with flowers). Small cream-white flowers in early summer.

Best in half shade to light or dappled shade (4 hours of direct sun or less), leaves can burn in full sun. Average soil with some organic matter, average moisture. Organic mulch is beneficial. Don't plant in waterlogged soil.

Hardy in zones 4 to 9. Deer and rabbit resistant, tolerant to black walnut. Pollinator friendly - attracts some butterflies and small bees.

Best in small groups in half shade beds, woodland edges, woodland or shade gardens or bigger containers. Divide clump after several years of growing to retain the vigor and new growth.

Good companions are shade tolerant plants like Actaea, Aquilegia, Astilbe, Brunnera, Chrysogonum, Epimedium, Gillenia, Helleborus, Heuchera, Hosta,Phlox divaricata, Primula, shorter Thalictrum, Tricyrtis and especially combined with fine structure of grasses like Carex, Deschampsia, Hakonechloa. Goes well with spring ephemerals (Jeffersonia, Mertensia, Sanguinaria,Trillium, etc), spring bulbs and ferns.
