Regular spikes of coral red/creamy flowers and grassy leaves.

Selected in Michigan and proven to be hardy in zone 5b - surviving wet and snowy Michigan's winters (with winter protection or good drainage even deeper).

36-48" tall x 24-28" wide, robust clumps.

Flowers in full summer (peak in July).

Full sun or half sun are optimal (6+ hours), average soils, clayish, loamy, sandy, poor soil, adaptable. Average moisture (medium) to medium-dry.

Hardy in zones 5b t 9 (at least), red hot poker originates in the mountain meadows of South Africa.

Wonderful selection from Walters Gardens, patented plant (PP32295), unlicensed propagation is prohibited.

Deer and rabbit resistant, pollinator friendly (attracts some bees and butterflies) and hummingbirds.

Looks great in the middle of the sunny border, but also modern landscaping, eclectic gardens, rock garden or naturalistic garden.
