Aquatic plant, native to central and eastern USA, with large ornamental leaves.
1.5-2' tall and wide, green-white flowers are hidden among the leaves and are followed by big seedpods. This plant roots and base of the plant is submerged in the water and leaves are above the water.
Hardy in zones 5 to 9.
Flowers attract several species of flies, seed pods are food for ducks and turtles.
Water perennial with ornamental foliage for pond, water, bog garden, swamps or naturalizing, shallow ponds, marshes, can be grown in large containers or tubs.
