Rhizomatous water perennial, with fragrant white flowers, aromatic leaves and roots (citrus aroma).

Native plant to Eastern and South Eastern North America, see the USDA map of distribution.

Grows to 2' tall x wide, in good conditions can form colonies.

Full sun, half shade (up to full shade - it will still bloom there), wet, moist, boggy, muddy soils, water margins, ponds up to 4-6" deep in water.

Hardy in zones 3 to 9. Toxic to mammals and cattle, if eaten in bigger quantities.

Attracts ducks, it was used as medicinal plant against breast and other body part inflammation.

Best for waterlogged soils, pond margins, wet boggy soils and rain gardens.

    Great condition when I received it. Planted it right away, I didn’t put a marker so I haven’t located it again. But it had good roots when I received it.
