Round fuzzy leaves, tiny lavender-purple flowers.
Blooming time : mid to late spring, with some reblooming in the fall
Size : 4-5” tall x 12" wide, slowly spreads wide (reaching 12" in 3 years)
USDA zones : 6/7 to 8, potentially hardy to zone 5 (with snow cover)
Culture : full sun, half shade, light shade, average soils and drained soils - gravelly, rocky, sandy soils. Adaptable plant, but drainage is beneficial!
Moisture Needs : medium, medium-dry, medium-moist, soil
Origin : East and Southeast Asia (China, Japan, Korea, India, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam), where can be found on hillsides, open woodlands, grasslands, open rocky areas, and roadsides up to 4900 ft (1500 meters), on moist but drained soils (but adapts to drier conditions too).
Deer/rabbit resistant : yes / yes

Plant combinations : For rock gardens, the edges, trough gardens, crevice gardens, in combination with rocks. Best combined with smaller plants like Anemone (Pulsatilla), Antennaria, Armeria, short Artemisia, dwarf Aquilegia, Armeria, Calamintha gran diflora, short Campanula, Delosperma, Dianthus,dwarf Gaillardia, Geranium dalmaticum and G. cinereum, short Gypsohila, Iris (dwarf and miniature bearded Iris), dwarf Origanum, shorter Penstemons, dwarf Platycodon, Satureja, Salvia nemorosa (short 'Marcus' or 'Marvel series', Sedum, Sempervivum, dwarf Stachys, Scabiosa columbaria, Thymus, short Veronica, many spring bulbs, dwarf ferns and small grasses like Koeleria or Festuca.
