Hybrid of two native Pitcher Plants - the pitchers are modified tubular leaves, the true red nodding flowers appear in the spring on the linear winter leaves (phyllodia).
The pitchers emerge green with red veins., soon turning deep red.
Can be easily grown in peaty moist soil or container.
Blooming Time: the nodding flowers appear in early to mid spring, the pitchers are visible throughout the year
Size: 24-26" tall and 12-18" wide
USDA Zones: 5a to 9b
Culture: full sun/partial sun, constantly moist but not soggy acidic, peat-based soil. Requires acidic and lean soil = don't use fertilizer.
Moisture Needs: moist, constantly moist (can be grown in small plastic pool/sand box, container, or bogs)
Origin: introduced by Plant Delights Nursery (Raleigh, NC) in 2018, as a hybrid of two native species : Sarracenia flava - see the distribution map, and Sarracenia leucophylla, see the distribution map. Where they grow in wet savannas, bogs, seeps and pine flatwoods, on acidic nutrient poor sand-peaty soils.

Attracts Butterflies or Pollinators: native bees (primarily bumblebees), honeybees, wasps, flies
Attracts Hummingbirds: no
Pot Size: square 3.5" x 4" deep perennial pot
Plant combinations: Special pond gardens, rain gardens, bog gardens, containers filled with acidic peat soil (these be inserted into other garden parts). Good companions can be other pithcer plants, Iris x louisiana, Lobelia.
