Tradescantia 'Blushing Bride' - SPIDERWORT 'BLUSHING BRIDE ' (indoor / tender perennial)
Ok, to be fair, this is not what we wanted: 'Blushing Bride' is sold as a cultivar of the hardy native spiderword. But when we got the plugs, it was obvious this is a tender plant, or tropical plant, indoor plant that can be grown in the garden only for the warmer part of the year.
The pink and white blushing is strongly present in cooler part of the season. With heat coming in, the white persist and plant can also turn completely green for the hot months.
It's still interesting plant for hanging baskets, or windowsill, cool room (bedroom, etc.)
Fast growing, sprawling/creeping, small white flowers are great for pollinators.
Blooming Time: early summer to early fall
Size: 12-18" tall and 14-18" wide
USDA Zones: probably 9-111
Culture: partial sun to partial shade (may scorch in too much sun, especially with not enough moisture). Average soil with some compost.
Moisture Needs: medium-moist, medium
Origin: unknown
Deer/Rabbit Resistant: no / no
Attracts Butterflies or Pollinators: yes / yes
Attracts Hummingbirds: no
Pot Size: square 3.5" x 4' deep perennial pot
Plant Combinations: Containers, windowsills, hanging baskets, indoor plants, seasonal filler in the garden
