Product Description
The cultivar 'Valerie Finnis' has wider leaves, a bit more compact growth, and doesn't spread that much, so it's suitable for flower beds, smaller gardens or landscaping.
It grows best in drier and drained soil (shallower, rocky, poorer, sandy, gravelly, or simply drained soil), because if planted in rich and moist soil, it becomes a bit leggy or even floppy.
Looks good with perennials like Aster (A. novae-angliae, A. laevis, A. oblongifolius), Asclepias tuberosa, Baptisia, Echinacea (E. angustifolia, pallida, paradoxa, tennesseensis), Rudbeckia, Monarda fistulosa, Salvia, etc. Even though this plant is suitable for smaller gardens, you may have to keep an eye on how much it spreads.
