Blooming Time: late summer, but may not bloom at all (flowers are not ornamental)
Size: 18-24" tall x 30" wide
USDA Zones: 4 to 7
Culture: full sun, half shade, adaptable to many soil types that stay medium to dry (including clay) and are well-drained. Including shallower, rocky, sandy or leaner soil. In rich soil may spread fast.
Moisture Needs: dry to medium
Origin: Introduced by the Garden Genetics LLC (Bellefonte, PA) by Richard A. Grazzini. in June 2021, under true cultivar name 'G18123', and trade name GardenGhost™ or secondary as cultivar name 'Garden Ghost' (or 'Ghost'). It should be improved 'Silver King' cultivar. Patented under PP33773. Some of the parents are Artemisia ludoviciana, which is native perennial to most states in the USA and Canada (see USDA distribution map)
Deer/Rabbit Resistant: yes / yes
Attracts Butterflies or Pollinators: attracts several grasshoppers, and is a host plant for the larvae of one native moth.
Attracts Hummingbirds: no
Pot Size: 3.5" x 4" perennial pot
Plant combinations: Looks good with perennials like Amsonia, Aster (A. novae-angliae, A. laevis, A. oblongifolius), Asclepias tuberosa, Baptisia, Echinacea (E. angustifolia, pallida, paradoxa, tennesseensis), Penstemon, Rudbeckia, Monarda fistulosa, Salvia, etc and many grasses. Even though this plant is suitable for smaller gardens, you may have to keep an eye on how much it spreads.
