Also called "chocolate daisy" for the light chocolate fragrance of the daisy-like flowers; another common name is lyreleaf greeneyes. It has grayish, aromatic and divided leaves, pale yellow to yellow flowers with maroon brown eyes, and nice, ornamental seedpods. Flowers for a very long time and offers nectar to pollinators. It easily self-seeds.

This perennial is very tough, being tolerant of drought, heat, and humidity, as well as resistant to deer.

Beautiful perennial for dry slopes, landscaping with rocks, in shallow soils, rock gardens, rocky slopes, and xeriscapes.
