Non-climbing 2-3' tall Clematis with 2" ivory flowers.
Can be grown as clumping perennial or can lean against provided support.
Very resilient, tough and tolerant to humid and hot climate.
Slower growing, long-lived perennial and low maintenance plant.
Pollinator friendly.
Blooming Time: May - June (to June/July in cooler areas).
Size: usually1.5’ high and 2’ wide (to 2' tall x 3' wide)
USDA Zones: 4a to 7b
Culture: sun, half sun, half shade; average soil with some organic matter, adaptable (also rocky, gritty soils)
Moisture Needs: medium (medium-moist to medium-dry), moderately fertile soils, established plants will tolerate droughts
Origin: Introduced by Harlan Hamernik, nursery man and founder of Bluebird Nursery (Nebraska), discovered in Mongolia during one of the botanizing trips. Mongolia, eastern Siberia, Korea, China, can be found on slopes, dunes and grassy areas/slopes.
Deer/Rabbit Resistant: yes / yes (can be browsed some by the deer, if the pressure is too high).
Attracts Butterflies or Pollinators: yes / yes
Attracts Hummingbirds: no
Pot Size: square 3.5" x 4" perennial pot
Plant combinations: Best in natural-looking garden, sloped garden, bigger rock garden, atop retaining wall. Can be grown on a small support/trellis. Front of the flower beds, sloped gardens, terraced gardens, cottage gardens, rock gardens, meadow-style gardens. Goes well with many common perennials and grasses.
