Coreopsis verticillata 'Heartstrings' = 2" cream flowers have a dark reddish pink eye. The eye zone jets nearly to the tip of each petal, with flecking appearing along the veins.

Great mildew resistance.

Tolerant to heat, humidity and droughts. Pollinator friendly.

Blooming Time: early to late summer 
Size: 18-20' tall x 20-24' wide clumps 
USDA Zones: 5 to 9
Culture: full sun, average soil amended with some sand, and compost, better somewhat leaner and not too rich soil. Drained soils.
Moisture Needs: average (medium), medium-dry, dry
Origin:  introduced by Walters Gardens. Patented cultivar under PP#36055. Part of the

Native companions include Amorpha canescens, Asclepias tuberosa, Asclepias verticillata, Aster oblongifolius, Aster laevis, Aster ericoides, Coreopsis, Cunila origanoides, Echinacea tennesseensis, Echinacea pallida or angustifolia, Echinacea paradoxa, Euphorbia corollata, Penstemon, Pycnanthemum, Rudbeckia (R. missouriensis, R. fulgida) Salvia lyrata, Solidago, Sisyrinchium angustifolium, and grasses like Andropogon, Boutelloua gracilis, Eragrostis elliotii, Koeleria macrantha or cristata, Muhlenbergia capillaris, Panicum, Pennisetum, Sporobolus heterolepis, and Schizachyrium scoparium.

Other great non-native perennial combinations include summer blooming perennial Alliums ('Summer Beauty' ,'Millenium', 'Lavender Bubbles, 'Windy City' etc.), Lavandula ( L. officinalis in cooler regions, Lavandula x intermedia), and Perovskia.
