New Millenium series of Delphinium = more heat and humidity tolerant, vigorous and longer-lived than older cultivars.
F1 hybrids, selected in New Zealand. Tested in south central Indiana with hot and humid summers and surprise, they do well here!
4-6' tall x 1.5-2' wide, upright, strictly vertical growth. Cobalt blue, double flowers with white bee from June to September, with the peak in early to full summer. Heavy flowers may need staking.
Full sun, half sun, half shade, average to rich garden soil, preferably with more nutrients. Average moisture (medium to medium-moist).
Hardy in zones 3 to 8.
Plants should be deer and rabbit resistant, flowers should attract honey bees, hummingbirds and butterflies (we can't verified from our own experience yet).
Architectural perennial for sunny border, this is typical border plant (big-flowered plant for higher maintenance garden with amended good soil). Excellent cut flower.
Can be combined with majority of common perennials for sun.
