Double flowering plants offer less for pollinators, but we decided to add this coneflower to our assortment, because we noticed of it's excellent and lasting performance in our area!

According to the Dutch hybridizer Marco van Noort, 'Delicious Candy’ is his best Echinacea in 5 years!

'Delicious Candy' = compact plant with fluorescent, glowing fuchsia pink flowers, ornamental dark green leaves and dark stems.

Flowers are double, pom-pom centers and horizontally held petals.

Starts to bloom earlier than other varieties.

Blooming time: May/June to August
Size: 18-24" tall x 14-16" wide
USDA zones: 4 to 9
Culture: full sun, average soil with some drainage (add coarse sand, fine gravel), drained soil, drier clay. The coneflower hybrids do not like acidic soils and winter moisture. T
Moisture Needs: medium to medium-dry, dry, tolerant to summer droughts
Origin: Hybrid selected by Marco Van Noort, Holland
Deer/rabbit resistant: yes/yes
Attracts Butterflies or Pollinators: pollinator friendly
Attracts Hummingbirds: no
Pot size: square 3.5 " x 4" deep perennial pot
Plant combinations: Best planted in late spring through very early fall, so it can establish before winter. Accent in flower borders, prairie style plantings, public spaces, xeriscape. Great with many native perennials - Agastache, summer blooming Allium, Amsonia, Asclepias, Aster, Baptisia, Calamintha, Callirhoe, Caryopteris, Coreopsis, Dalea, Eryngium, Gaura, most of hardy Geraniums, Heliopsis, Helianthus, Lavandula, Liatris, Limonium, Monarda, Nepeta, Origanum,  Perovskia, Rudbeckia (R. fulgida var. deamii, R. fulgida var. speciosa, R. 'American Gold Rush'), Salvia, Scutellaria incana, Sedum, Solidago, Sisyrinchium, Stachys, Vernonia, Veronica spicata or Veronica incana hybrids. skia, Salvia or grasses like Boutelloua gracilis, Eragrostis spectabilis, Muhlenbergia, Sporobolus heterolepis, Sorghastrum or Panicum.
