Yellow Passionflower is a climbing vine to 15 feet. It has small, intricately detailed, pale yellow-green flowers in summer, which are followed by small black berries.
This little vine isn't the showiest, but can be nice neat surprise inside your woods or thicket or half shade areas . It is common in thickets throughout the eastern US.
Prefers some little shading during the day - half sun, half shade, dappled shade are the best. Average soil or clay, with moderate moisture or a bit drier too.
Blooms mid summer to late summer, hardy to zones 5-9. Easy to grow native climber.
This is a major food plant for several species of butterfly larvae. The pollen of this species is the only known larval foodstuff of the Passionflower Bee.
Supports nectar-insects and butterflies, fruits are food source for small mammals and birds.
