Interesting sage with fuzzy leaves and small purple-violet flowers and dark calyxes. For hot and drier garden.

Clump perennial, 2' tall and 1-1.5' wide, flowers from May to August. Full sun to half shade, drained to well drained soil (sandy, gritty, rocky, gravelly, shallower soils). Average moisture to dry.

Hardy in zones 5 to 8.

Aromatic plant, so deer and rabbit resistant. Pollinator friendly - attracts honeybees, some native bees and butterflies.

Native to Turkey and islands off its west coast, where can be found on rocky slopes or roadsides in elevations up to 3000'.

Best for dry flower bed, Mediterranean garden, pollinator garden or xeriscape.
