Meadow Sage 'Snow Hill' - cultivar with pure white flower in late spring and early summer.
Clumps with vertical branching, usually reaching 1.5-2' of height and width.
Flowers in May to June, with deadheading, it may re-bloom some, but it is not reliable re-bloomer as other cultivars
Full sun is the best, average soil or drained soils. This cultivar doesn't do that great in clay, so some additional sand and/or fine gravel (mixed with the soil) helps.
Medium moisture to medium-dry to dry soils. Drought, heat and air-pollution tolerant plant makes it great candidate for urban landscaping.
Attracts butterflies and bees. Deer and rabbit tolerant (they usually avoid it for it's aromatic leaves).
Combine with medium to taller grasses and with perennials like Asclepias tuberosa or verticillata, Eryngium, Coreopsis, Echinacea, Gaillardia, Gaura, Geranium sanquineum cultivars, Perovskia, Rudbeckia, Nepeta, Sedum, roses or daylilies.
Looks well in any sunny border, in private or public spaces, cottage gardens, pollinator gardens, bigger containers.
'Snow Hill' is most likely hybrid, so Salvia x sylvestris = hybrids of two European species - S. nemorosa and Salvia pratensis, it is hardy in zones 4 to 8.
