Showy sage with pale pink flowers and darker pink-red buds.

2' tall x 1' tall, rosettes of semi-evergreen coarse leaves. The flowering peak in in June/July, doesn't flower for too long (maybe for 2-3 weeks top), but can rebloom if cut back.

Full sun, half sun, average to well drained soil. Average moisture (medium) to medium-dry soils. Soils with some sand, rock, gravel or gritty components are the best.

Deer and rabbit resistant plant (aromatic), attracts honey bees, hummingbirds and possibly some native bees and native butterflies.

Heat, humidity and drought tolerant plant.

Self seeds some. Best in sunny garden, in somewhat drained soil, bigger rock gardens, xeriscape, water wise plantings. Combine with drought tolerant/resistant plants like Artemisia, Achillea, Asclepias tuberosa, Calamintha, Iris x barbata, Echinacea, Eryngium, Nepeta, Paeonia, Ruellia humilus, and grasses like Festuca, Schizachyrium, Koeleria,  Muhlenbergia or Sporobolus.
