Culture: sun, half sun, grows well in any well drained soil (amended with gravel, sand, any gritty component). Medium, medium-dry to dry soil. Adaptable to pH, but soils should be drained and somewhat leaner. Avoid waterlogged, rich and fertile soils! Drought, heat and humidity tolerant.

Good with small Echinacea, Achillea, short Agastache, summer blooming Allium, Asclepias tuberosa, Calamintha, Coreopsis, shorter Liatris, Nepeta, shorter Oenothera, less spreading Creeping Phlox hybrids (Phlox subulata hybrids), Penstemons, smaller Platycodon, Salvia nemorosa hybrids, Satureja, other Sedum, small Silene, Sisyrinchium, Stachys 'Densiflorus', Thymus, Veronica, Yucca, and grasses like Bouteloa, Sporobolus 'Tara' or short Schizachyrium.
