Small mat forming perennial for rock garden, edges, troughs or crevice gardens.

Light lavender-blue flowers, shiny foliage with a hit of burgundy, especially in the spring and fall.

Blooming Time: April/May, with occasional reblooming later on
Size: 5" tall x 12-15" wide
USDA Zones: 4 to 8
Culture: full sun, half sun, half shade. Average soils to well-drained soils. Avoid wet and waterlogged soils.
Moisture Needs: average (medium) to medium-dry
Origin: the Caucasus region (Republic of Georgia, Russia, Ukraine), and western Asia Minor
Deer/Rabbit Resistant: yes / yes
Attracts Butterflies or Pollinators: some butterflies
Attracts Hummingbirds: no
Pot Size: square 3.5" x 4" deep

Plant Combinations: Best for the front or edge of flower bed, rock garden, crevice gardens, bigger trough or bigger container. Trouble free plant, may need to be cut back after flowering (for better and fresh leaves). Can be combined with many common perennials. But looks very well with blue, or blue-purple flowers of shorter cultivars of : Achillea, summer blooming Alliums, Artemisia, Asclepias tuberosa, short Amsonia, short Agastache,  Calamintha nepeta 'Blue Cloud', Coreopsis, Dracocephallum, Euphorbia myrsinites, short Gaura, Geranium, Lavandula, Kalimeris 'Blue Star' , Iris x barbata 'Nana' and 'Media', small cultivars of Origanum, smaller Paeonia, Penstemon, Salvia nemorosa hybrids, Ruellia humilis, Scabiosa columbaria, Scutellaria ovata, Sisyrinchium, Stokesia, Tradescantia,  Stachys 'Hummelo' or Yucca. It looks good with anything that has a slightly rougher structure (bigger leaves, flowers, grassy leaves, etc) and with many shorter or medium-sized grasses.
