Delphinium 'Purple Passion' (New Millenium Series Elatum F1 hybrids) - LARKSPUR - DELPHINIUM NEW MILLENIUM 'PURPLE PASSION'
New Millenium series of Delphinium = more heat and humidity tolerant, vigorous and longer-lived than older cultivars
Tested in south central Indiana with hot and humid summers and surprise, they do well here! (but it is still not plant for deep south)
Upright, strictly vertical growth. Deep purple, double flowers with white bee.
Sturdy stems - usually doesn't requite staking.
Hardy in zones 3 to 8.
Plants should be deer and rabbit resistant, flowers should attract honey bees, hummingbirds and butterflies (we can't verified from our own experience yet).
Architectural perennial for sunny border, this is typical border plant (big-flowered plant for higher maintenance garden with amended good soil). Excellent cut flower.
Can be combined with majority of common perennials for sun.
