This wildflower is native to the whole eastern half of USA, often found in abandoned pastures or where the competition from other tall plants has been reduced. It has serrated leaves, an airy structure than opens at the top, and clusters of white flowers in late summer through early fall.
This is an excellent pollinator plant that attracts many kinds of insects. Deer and rabbit resistant. It has a wild look, so it's best in naturalistic plantings, for naturalizing in meadows, moist areas or in the background of any naturalistic flower bed.
