No reviews yet
Product Code: LIM-TAT-X
Shipping: Calculated at Checkout
$6.99

Well know plant for it's use in dried flower arrangements, but also as fresh cut flower. Evergreen perennial for sun and drier soil, good in coastal areas for its good salt tolerance.

1-1.5' tall and wide, rosette of thick leathery leaves, well branched stems with small white to pinkish-white flowers in July to August.

Full sun, half shade (or some afternoon shade, especially in hot areas), drained soils with medium moisture to dry. Best in sandy, rocky, gritty, gravelly or other well drained soils. Tolerant to heat and drought, but moderately tolerant to humidity.

Thick root (crown of the plant) can be sensitive to excessive winter moisture. It's also better not to transplant it, so choose the site wisely.

Hardy in zones 4 to 10.

Native to Southeastern Europe to southern Russia.

Deer and rabbit resistant. Pollinator friendly (honeybees, potentially other pollinators and butterflies).

For drying the flowers : cut before the flowers fully open, hang down in cooler and dry (aired) room.

Best in sunny and dry flower bed, rock garden or other well drained soils. Combine with other drought tolerant plants like Campanula poscharskyana, Coreopsis, Erigeron pulchellus, Gaura, Geranium (G. sanquineum, G. cinereum), Gypsophilla repens, bearded Iris, Euphorpbia (E. myrsinites, E. rigida), Liatris, Linum, Stachys, Monarda bradburiana, Penstemon, Pulsatilla, editerannean herbs (Hyssopus, Lavandula, Origanum, Satureja, Thymus), Salvia, Salvia nemorosa hybrids and smaller to medium sized grasses (Festuca, (Koeleria, Muhlenbergia, Sporobolus, Schizachyrium).

Other common names are Sea Lavender or Sea Spray.

Pot size : square 3.5" x 5" deep pot
