Origin: discovered by plantsman Charles Webb in nature on limestone banks of Suwannee River in Madison County, Florida. This cultivar is clonally propagated (sometimes in tissue culture too). The species of Sisyrinchium nashii is native to AL, FL, GA, LA, MS, NC, SC, TN and VA.

Attracts Butterflies or Pollinators: yes / yes (bees and butterflies)
Attracts Hummingbirds: no
Pot Size: round Proven Winner pot 4.25" x 5" deep
Plant Combinations: excellent for edges or for the front of a smaller beds and gardens. Can be combined with many common perennials that are somewhat drought tolerant like Alliums ('Summer Beauty' ,'Millenium', 'Lavender Bubbles, 'Windy City' etc.), Achillea, Calamintha, shorter Iris, Nepeta, Salvia nemorosa hybrids, Stachys byzantina, etc. Native companions include Amorpha nana, Asclepias tuberosa, Aster - short New England asters, Coreopsis, Cunila origanoides, Echinacea - short cultivars, Penstemon, shorter Rudbeckia, Salvia nemorosa, shorter Solidago, and grasses like Boutelloua gracilis, Eragrostis elliotii, Koeleria macrantha or cristata, Muhlenbergia capillaris, short Panicum, shorter Pennisetum, Sporobolus heterolepis, and Schizachyrium scoparium.
